Magento Enterprise vs Shopping Cart EliteSee how these companies stack up
Magento Reviews Around the Web"...you need software engineers/developers to build this out...the cost to get a Magento programmer is steep."What can be challenging with a platform like this is the fact that you need software engineers/developers to build this out. We had to hire a third-party agency. You could it bring in-house, but the cost to get a Magento programmer is steep. Not a lot is out of the box. You need to get creative with this platform - Magento Enterprise Customer www.g2crowd.com/survey_responses/magento-enterprise-edition-review-39713
"From a branding and content perspective, Magento severely lacks..."From a branding and content perspective, Magento severely lacks. Also, there are many out of the box features that just don't seem to be user friendly or are simply missing, and should be present. - Magento Enterprise Customer www.g2crowd.com/survey_responses/magento-enterprise-edition-review-25291
"Be wary of customizing anything..."Be wary of customizing anything... If you customize it will add long term cost in terms of upgrading to their newest releases. - Magento Enterprise Customer www.g2crowd.com/survey_responses/magento-enterprise-edition-review-25291
"...use this software only in last case."I dislike its user interface as well as its complexity to develop custom solutions. Consider testing other solutions in the market and use this software only in last case. - Erick P. Magento Enterprise Customer www.g2crowd.com/survey_responses/magento-enterprise-edition-review-79374
"Your site will convert as well as a geocities site in 2015..."Magento is a resource hog, and without the skillful hand of an experienced system administrator, powerful hosting environment, clean code base (especially if you're customizing), and thought out cache management solution, your site will convert as well as a geocities site in 2015. If you get sucked into the lure of cheaply priced (or free) extensions that promise the world, you'll experience the hurt - Eugene S. Magento Enterprise Customer www.g2crowd.com/survey_responses/magento-enterprise-edition-review-38242
"Magento tends to run slower...And load time directly impacts conversion rate."Magento tends to run slower than average for ecommerce platforms. And load time directly impacts conversion rate. - Magento Enterprise Customer www.g2crowd.com/survey_responses/magento-enterprise-edition-review-23897
"Magento has a steep learning curve..."Magento has a steep learning curve, and even simple frontend design updates require a relatively deep knowledge of the App. - Magento Enterprise Customer www.g2crowd.com/survey_responses/magento-enterprise-edition-review-104277
"It is complicated to use..."It is complicated to use, not the most user friendly, lack of training we received, not knowing all of magento's functionality... - Magento Enterprise Customer www.g2crowd.com/survey_responses/magento-enterprise-edition-review-95965
Our opinion on Magento:With Magento Enterprise, you are not going to get effective, reliable Enterprise features and tools to operate a successful ecommerce business. Instead, you are going to get expensive development, few or poorly implemented out-of-box features, bad and unresponsive customer service and technical support, difficult customizations, slow and resource-hog performance, downtime, and more. As you can see from the above testimonials and complaints, Magento customers are unhappy and dissatisfied with their platform, and rightfully so. In addition, we at Shopping Cart Elite understand that the longevity of an ecommerce platform relies on innovation, listening to the needs of our customers every day, and taking compelling action to meet those needs by releasing updates and new features monthly. Magento does not maintain the same core values. Magento also does not support full marketplace integration so you will not be able to sell on eBay, Amazon, and other popular marketplaces. At a time when so many ecommerce businesses are finding spurred growth by expanding through more sales channels, Magento is letting you down.
